LA Loop Won a Tough Game Against Hank’s Spiders

In the Drew League Week 4, LA Loop played against Hank’s Spiders. From the beginning of the game, it was a close game and LA Loop needed to catch up with the opponent’s lead. But, the Player of the Game, Kris Lawrie led the team to win with 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals.

In the first quarter, LA Loop had a great start with the score of 9-2. But after the timeout, Hank’s Spiders was gradually getting their rhythm and catching up with LA Loop’s lead. LA Loop finished the first quarter with 3 points lead. The score was 15-12.

In the second quarter, LA Loop’s defense rotations didn’t work well and let Hank’s Spiders overtake the game. Also, LA Loop played bad on offense. They missed easy shots and made many turnovers. LA Loop didn’t get their rhythm and finished first half with 3 points behind. The half-time score was 31-34.

In the third quarter, LA Loop kept up with the opponent’s lead by a comeback player D’Andre Bell’s 3 pointers and Kris Lawrie’s 2 dunks and his bonus-throw. But Hank’s Spiders also played hard and they kept their 3-point-lead until the end of the quarter. The score at the end of third quarter was 50-53.

In the final quarter, Vince Camper finally got back his rhythm, and took advantage of teammates with his passes. And then, D’Andre Bell made a tiebreaking 3-pointer in the important situation. After that, LA Loop made free throws properly, and finished the game with the score of 74-67. LA Loop’s winning streak number from the opening game is now 4.

Kris Lawrie did a great job as the Player of the Game. Especially, his contribution on both offense and defense in the second half cheered up the team. Next week, LA Loop is scheduled to play against a former NBA player Gilbert Arenas. But, we LA Loop are growing up as a team. So we are ready to deal with any team!
