On Saturday, May 18th, the Drew League started a new season! Our team, LA Loop played against Cheaters 1 on May 19th. This was our first game with the new team members, and it was hard to say we prepared enough to start a new season. But, we won the first game! This winning has big meaning for LA Loop to continue this season!
The game started with Cheaters 1’s ally-oop. But, LA Loop ended up leading the 1st quarter by 5 points.
But, in the 2nd quarter, game was turned. Our week points from less practice were exposed. We didn’t communicate well and we made easy mistakes and turnovers. At the end of the 3rd quarter, LA Loop was behind 10 points.
At the 4th quarter, LA Loop got back their concentration for winning the as a team. After Billy Knight and Kenny Jones went back to the court, LA Loop played well on both defense and offense. We got some unexpected troubles with whistles, but we ended up our first game with winning. The final score was 73 and 69.
One of the reason of our winning was we got more rebound than Cheaters 1. That was a problem in the last season. It was not the only reason, but fixing the last season’s problem payed off!! This is just a beginning, but it means big. We will be stronger by the time and win more game to go to the playoffs!
